Unspeakable Grace: Hints of Spring

Good morning.

As the sun begins to peek through our dreary clouds and the tiniest sprigs of green start to pop through the brown, it’s as if the Lord is reminding us of His power to come and make all things new. He is so faithful to show up just about the time we thought Winter might last forever with a big handful of Spring.

If it’s still dark where you are, hold on. If the branches you can see are still bare and new life is nowhere to be found, rest assured rejuvenation is on its way. The morning always follows the night, no matter how long the night may be. Silence will be broken by the song of a brave little bird one day very soon.

Hope will rise on the horizon before you know it. Until it does, sing through the night. Chin quivering, knees knocking, hands trembling – however you have to do it, just do it. Stand to your feet, find your voice, and lift your voice and your heart to the one who’s held you all along.

Don't rush these slow days of Spring because you long for the car…

Good morning.
If someone told you five years ago this is what your life would look like today, would you have believed them? (I know – such a lightweight question to start your day with, right?) But really – where did you think you would be? Is this what you you thought you'd be doing? Are these the people you thought you'd be doing life with? Is this place all you envisioned it would be? What happened to veer you off your old course and allow you to be standing where you are today? How do you feel about that?
In the retail world, taking regular inventory is vital for success. I believe that’s true in our ordinary lives, too. Don’t be so afraid to look back that you miss the cool ways God has moved on your behalf. Don’t be so infatuated with the future that you overlook where He is working today. Count the blessings. Trust God with the parts that don’t make sense yet. Believe He’s not finished.
Whether we love the life we are living today or we are hoping for better days to come,…
